Use caution if the agency that you are about to hire suggests that you apply for a new identity. There are a couple of different ways of doing this–all are illegal. If you choose to go along, you can and most likely will be convicted of fraud.

Avoid a company that doesn’t state either on their website, in their contract or over the phone to you that you can do the work yourself without a credit repair agency and in fact it is your right. You have the ability to get the same results that an agency can get. Most people use a credit repair agency because they are too pressed for time to do the work themselves or they just feel that they don’t have the knowledge necessary to be effective.
